The stay
Canyon Creek Chalet is a private, entire-home rental in a quiet wooded neighborhood just off Mt. Baker Highway (SR 542), between Maple Falls and Glacier. Guests have the whole cabin and yard to themselves.
Mornings start with coffee on the balcony, looking straight into the canopy. Then the day goes one of two ways: up the highway toward Mt. Baker and its trails, or into one of the two desks with a fast connection and a forest in the window.
Evenings belong to the fire: the gas stove in the living room, the fire pit ringed with log benches under string lights, and ping pong in the game room for anyone not ready to sit still. Upstairs, the king suite keeps its own fireplace and sitting area for whoever turns in first.

Upstairs · Primary suite
A king bed under a vaulted ceiling with two skylights, with a reclining sofa beside an electric fireplace and TV, a desk, and French doors to a covered private balcony. The en suite bath has slate tile, a heated floor, a skylight and a soaking tub with shower. A twin hideaway bed suits a child.
Upstairs · Second bedroom
The second bedroom has a queen bed under its own skylight, a large nautical chart and a framed relief map on the walls, a desk and a smart TV. A guest room by night, a quiet second office by day.
Main level
The main living room has a plush sectional, dimmable lighting, a gas stove-style fireplace, a smart TV and Bluetooth sound. The game room has ping pong, darts, a Wii and a queen sleeper sofa. The king suite’s sitting area is the third.
Kitchen & dining
Full cookware and dishware, a waffle maker, griddle and wok burner, spices and cooking basics. Drip coffee, a French press and a Keurig, with coffee, pods, tea, creamer and sugar. The butcher-block table seats six.
Work
One desk is in the king suite and one in the queen room, so two people can take calls in separate rooms. Wi-Fi measured 663 Mbps on the listing’s speed test; actual speeds vary.
Practicalities
Two full baths with heated floors and bidets; the primary bath has slate tile, a skylight and a soaking tub. A washer and dryer, and free parking on site for 3–4 cars.
Seasons
Canyon Creek Chalet is a year-round base: skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Baker in winter, the high trails at Artist Point in summer, and quieter weeks for working stays in spring and fall.
Mt. Baker Ski Area, 21.8 miles up the highway, logged a world-record 1,140 inches of snow in the 1998–99 season. Come back to boots drying by the gas fireplace. Check road conditions before driving up.
Late-season snow up high, green everything down low. A good time to settle in for a week or two and work from the cabin.
The final 2.7 miles of SR 542, the road to Artist Point, reopen once crews clear the snow; in 2026 that was June 10. Long evenings are for the grill, the patio table and the fire pit, when burn rules allow.
The Artist Point road closes with the first snowfall; in 2025 that was October 15. Quiet trails, river walks and longer stays in the shoulder season.

I would highly recommend this cabin, our stay was absolutely wonderful! It’s very peaceful and set up to really feel like home. We were able to unwind and relax after our very long road trip from Oklahoma and had the perfect amount of room to host my sister’s family each evening for dinner and s’mores.
The kitchen truly has everything you could possibly need. We were there for four days and ate the majority of our meals there with no problem whatsoever. The layout is spacious, but cozy and having a place to eat outside is absolutely fantastic. Also, the Rec room was a huge plus it was a great place for the kids to hang out and enjoy each other‘s company instead of just sitting around on the couch looking at screens.
It’s definitely a place we would stay again next time we’re up that way.
We had a great stay - perfect for proximity to some great hiking. The outdoor dining and grilling area made for such a lovely summer evening.
Eric is an OUTSTANDING host. Very responsive and accommodating. I made a terrible mistake and thought I'd booked us for 3 nights instead of 2, and Eric handled it with kindness and grace and helped get us out of the way before his next guests arrived. The home is super cozy and quiet, comfy beds and the electric reclining sofa is a special treat for watching movies. Things are clearly labeled throughout the house and he even has QR codes posted on the walls that take you to short tutorials for the TV and fireplace - amusing and so helpful for a short-term renter! Kitchen was well-appointed. Great stay for a couple days in the mountains.
We had such a great stay! Our pup loved the property and felt right at home. The cabin was cozy, and the instructions were very clear, which made everything easy.

My family of 4 (2 kids) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eric's beautiful home. The neighborhood is secluded and quiet with the top of Mt Baker only 30 minutes away. The home is clean and well furnished and the kitchen has everything you need to cook meals in (there aren't a ton of restaurants in the area so I recommend bringing groceries and mostly cooking). The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. We had an amazing time and can't wait to return some day!
Really great place to stay close to the Mt. Baker Wilderness and Artist Point. Loved that all the cabinets were labeled so you could easily find anything you needed in the kitchen. The mater bedroom was large and super comfortable. The house is nicely tucked into the trees making it feel nice and private and the neighborhood was great to walk through!
